Our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of all our employees

We have a robust safety and health training program as well as monitoring and reporting systems to ensure top performance. Our Environmental, Health and Safety Policy entails that we are responsible for providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work related injury and ill health. Prior to starting their work, all employees and contractors are required to undergo training on how to perform their jobs safely and productively.

Our Joint Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Committee participates in monthly workplace inspections and meetings to discuss health, safety, and environmental matters affecting our team. This committee is made up of representatives across the organization from each crew and our management.

Hudbay takes emergency preparedness seriously. Our Emergency Response Team consists of 67 active team members —all of whom are certified in Mine Rescue and over 40 members are qualified in Advanced First Aid. Our team regularly participates in Zone Mine Rescue and Three-Person Miner First Aid competitions. Our Joint Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Committee also conducts monthly workplace inspections and meetings to discuss health, safety, and environmental matters.
